With an audience full of celebrities, politicians, and journalists from major news outlets across the country, President Barack Obama delivered a rousing speech at the 98th annual White House Correspondence Dinner on Saturday. The event, which is meant to honor journalists, eventually focuses on the president making a humorous speech followed by an invited comedian. POTUS delivered, joking about the Secret Service, class warfare, and, of course, Mitt Romney.

But the one crack that even seemed to stun Michelle was directed towards Sarah Palin…and himself, inadvertently. “What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?,” Obama questioned, replying, “A pit bull is delicious.” Jimmy Kimmel also joked about the Republican attack on Obama trying dog meat as a child—a defense against Romney strapping his dog on the roof of his car—but also chose to make fun of several guests in the audience. “If you’re looking for the biggest threat in America, it’s right there– Kim Kardashian,” the late-night comedian pointed out. All in fun, the event awarded journalism students with $132,000 scholarships raised from the dinner.
