A conglomerate of White nationalist organizations is organizing a “White Lives Matter” rally scheduled for Oct. 28 in Shelbyville, Tenn.

Initially titled “Unite the Right 2.0,” the demonstration was allegedly motivated by a church shooting orchestrated by a Sudanese immigrant as well as the “ongoing problem of refugee resettlement in Middle Tennessee,” said Brad Griffin, one of the march’s organizers.

Among the groups planning the rally is Vanguard America, which also took part in the Unite the Right rally that took place in Charlottesville, Va., in August. James Alex Fields Jr., who authorities say drove his car into a group of counterprotesters during the rally and resultantly killed Heather Hyer, is believed to be affiliated with the group. The organization says it has no connection to Fields though he was seen sporting its signature apparel.

Among the other groups leading the rally are the National Socialist Movement, Traditionalist Worker Party, League of the South and White Lives Matter. The Southern Poverty Law Center classifies all of them as hate groups consisting of neo-Nazis, neo-Confederates and White nationalists.

Over the weekend, a group of protesters reconvened in Emancipation Park in Charlottesville with tiki torches in a march called “Charlottesville 3.0.” Surrounding the statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, which a city council removed, the White nationalists chanted, “You will not replace us” and “We will be back.”

The White Lives Matter rally organizers have yet to disclose the time and location of their march.
