A White man who called the police on a Black family using a community pool has been fired from his job, the company announced on Twitter.

Adam Bloom confronted Jasmine Edwards on Wednesday at their community pool in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He asked to see her identification to prove that she lived in the neighborhood before calling the cops.

Edwards posted the video of the exchange among her, Bloom and the police on her Facebook page where it amassed 4.5 million views, calling it “a classic case of racial profiling.”

Bloom’s employer, Sonoco Products released a statement following the video’s release saying that he “is no longer employed by the Company in any respect.”

“Our core values at Sonoco are built on dignity and respect for all, and we do not condone discrimination of any kind, inside or outside of the workplace” the statement reads.
