Thanks to the smarts of a 4-year-old the real perpetrators responsible for a Ferndale, Washington home invasion on Wednesday have been apprehended.

“Wednesday was the worst day in my life,” said Abby, Myfoxdetroit.com reported. They told us to get out of the house cause they wanted to steal stuff.”

“The bad guys stole my kitty bank, they stole my iPod,” the 4-year-old shared.

When police arrived, Abby’s babysitter informed officials that two armed Black men had broken into the home, WGNtv.com wrote. She even identified, Cody Oaks, the next-door neighbor as a possible suspect.

Abby said differently. She told investigators the suspects had White skin, not Black. That’s when her babysitter confessed.

According to authorities, the 17-year-old sitter, along with her 16-year-old boyfriend and another male suspect, organized the fake home invasion.

“Literally in 30 seconds, she changed everything that had been going on for five, six hours,” said Abby’s mother.

Oaks, who was taken in for questioning after the sitter’s allegations, was released. “It’s kind of sad because I don’t think she [Abby’s sitter] realizes the dangerous situation she put me in,” he stated.

The 17-year-old and her alleged accomplices have since been arrested. They could face robbery, burglary, and perjury charges.

The stolen items were returned thanks to Abby, who said: “They got it back because of me being the superhero.”
