Lots of personnel news coming out of the White House today. Attorney General Eric Holder will be staying in his post as President Obama enters his second term, according to a White House sources cited by the Washington Post. Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki will also stay on.

The news came shortly after Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, the first Latina to head a major federal agency, announced she would resign. President Obama praised Solis in a statement, calling her a “tireless champion for working families.” Her resignation is not a surprise as she had been expected to run for office in Los Angeles. Earlier in the day, word got out that, as was widely expected, Obama plans to nominate White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew for the position of Treasury secretary as early as Thursday.
