The students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were not happy with U.S. Education Secretary, Betsy DeVos’, brief visit to Parkland, Florida on Wednesday, Huffington Post reports.

DeVos visited the school three weeks after 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire in its hallways, killing 17 people in one of the first mass shootings of the year.

The visit was reportedly closed to reporters, and DeVos took just a handful of questions at a news conference. She did not offer specific details about the visit and also did not disclose any policy proposals from the White House regarding curbing gun violence.

In response to the question of whether she had made any promises to students, the government official said that she would like to return to he school “at an appropriate time” for an interview with the school’s student newspaper.

Many of the students have become activists in the wake of the shooting and took to social media to offer displeasure at DeVos’ visit.
