As the jury continues to deliberate the verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial, President Joe Biden said that he is praying that the trial ends with the “right verdict.” “I’m praying the verdict is the right verdict, which I think it’s overwhelming in my view,” Biden said Tuesday, according to NBC News. Biden went on to note that he would not have made such a pointed comment had the jury in the trial not been sequestered already.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot took to Twitter Sunday to address circulating rumors that she had plans to resign after trending on Twitter Saturday night.

“Seriously, though—our city doesn’t have any time for homophobic, racist, and misogynistic rumors, today or any day,” Lightfoot tweeted. “It’s shocking and disappointing to see some media members and verified Twitter handles are peddling this trash as truth. Lightfoot concluded by stating that she is going to continue to work mend the problems that plague Chicago and requested that those who are not committed to progress, “get out of the way.”

Woman Shot In Atlanta After Rejecting Man’s Catcalls

Meairra Mansara was shot in Atlanta after she and her boyfriend asked a man in a passing vehicle to stop catcalling her, CBS 46. The couple was riding scooters when a man rode by and began making comments. Juwan Davis, Mansara’s boyfriend, asked the man to leave them alone. Shortly after, bullets began to fly. The couple tried to flee on their scooters, but Mansara was hit in the shin. She was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for the gunshot wound and a shattered tibia.

Rep. Maxine Waters hit back at GOP critics who took issue with comments she made at a protest Saturday in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. “We’ve got to stay on the street and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. R. Kelly Associate Admits To Setting Azriel Clary’s Car On Fire

Michael Williams, an associate of R. Kelly, admitted to setting the vehicle of Azriel Clary ablaze last June, Yahoo News reports. Williams admitted to targeting Clary in order to harass, intimidate, and silence her after she accused Kelly of sexual abuse. The confession comes as a part of a plea deal that Williams reached with prosecutors. He is charged with one count of arson. Witness tampering charges have been dropped. Kelly’s attorney Steven Greenberg said that his client has nothing to do with Williams’ crime. However, according to Click Orlando, Williams is a relative of Kelly’s former publicist.
