Bill Cosby Bail Set at $1 Million in Sexual Assault Case

Bill Cosby was charged Wednesday with the sexual assault, of a woman at his home 12 years ago, prosecutors said.

They are the first criminal charges brought against the comedian out of multiple allegations that have plagued his image in the last decade. The charges came just days before the statute of limitations on such cases were set to run out.

The case relates to allegations brought forth by Temple University employee Andrea Constand, who says the 78-year-old celebrity drugged and sexually assaulted her at his mansion in suburban Philadelphia, rendering her unable to resist him.

Cosby had no comment on his way in and out of court as he was arraigned on a charge of aggravated indecent assault, punishable by five to 10 years behind bars and a $25,000 fine. He did not have to enter a plea and was allowed to remain free on $1 million bail for another hearing Jan. 14.
