Texas Democrats Stage Walkout To Block Restrictive Voting Bill – For Now

Sunday, a group of Texas Democrats walked out of the House chamber in Austin in protest of Senate Bill 7, a voter restriction bill, which would reduce polling hours, minimize access to mail-in voting and grant additional authority to partisan poll watchers, according to NPR. The bill, which was slated for passage, could not be voted on as a result of the walkout. In response, Governor Greg Abbott has threatened to withhold the pay of legislators.

Mo'Nique Weighs In On The Bonnet Debate

As the debate continues over whether or not women should wear bonnets in public, Mo'Nique has entered the chat. Saturday, the comedienne shared a video on Instagram in which she embraced the title of "auntie" and admonished women to stop wearing bonnets and pajamas in public. “Some of y’all have given me the title of auntie, and I’m honored that y’all do that. But there are times that auntie has to talk to her babies and say some real sh-t," she said. “I’ve been seeing it not just at the airport, I’ve been seeing it at the store, at the mall. I’ve been seeing sistas showing up in these bonnets and headscarves and slippers. And the question I have to you my sweet babies: when did we lose pride in representing ourselves?”

Blair Underwood Announces Plans To Divorce

In a statement shared on Instagram Sunday, actor Blair Underwood announced that he and his wife of 27 years, Desiree DaCosta, will be divorcing. "After a tremendous amount of thought, prayer & work on ourselves individually & collectively, we have come to the conclusion to end our marriage that began 27 years ago," the couple said in a joint statement. "We will continue to be the best of friends and co-parents and have the utmost respect for one another as we embark upon this new chapter of our lives, separately." During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, "Real Housewives of Potomac" star Gizelle Bryant revealed that she is no longer dating her ex-husband, Jamal Bryant. "We were working on us getting back together, but he lives in Atlanta [and] I live in Maryland," said Bryant. "With the pandemic, we just realized it’s not the right time. After a series of back-and-forth exchanges on Instagram, 50 Cent's current girlfriend, Cuban Link, whose birth name is Samira Haines, has apologized to his ex, Vivica Fox. The apology comes after Haines reacted to Fox's recent interview, in which she called the "Many Men" rapper the love of her life, by making an ageist comment about menopause. Later, it was revealed that Fox had also complimented Haines in the interview, which is what prompted the apology. “Humorous comment. Bad timing that’s all," Haines wrote on Instagram. "Now with knowing all of the information, it’s [not] so funny! I take the blame for all the commotion. I apologize."
