Although fair policing is without a doubt a national issue, New York City has positioned itself as a poster child for the matter. With controversial policies such as Stop-and-Frisk and Broken Windows – both of which disproportionately affect people of color – New York consistently finds itself at the center of the discussion on police protocol.
