Chicago-favorite Chance the Rapper made a follow-up announcement to his generous donation of over $1 million to Chicago Public Schools on Friday. At a press conference held at Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, the Grammy winner announced that he is partnering with Ingenuity, an arts education advocacy organization, to create an arts enrichment program called New Chance: Arts and Literature Fund.
Chance also announced that an additional $1.2 million has been raised to benefit the arts programs at 12 additional public schools, which include elementary schools and high schools that are in need of financial assistance. Most of the donation was raised by the Chicago Bulls organization, who gave $1 million towards the cause.
The rapper and his non-profit organization Social Works are continuing their promise of donating an additional $10,000 for every $100,000 that is raised for the initiative. Watch a recap of the press conference in the video above.
