“I always dreamt of going to college, but by God’s grace, my music career took me on a path that I’m so thankful for,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “This week I got accepted into Harvard! Words cannot describe my excitement!”
According to the Ivy League school’s website, the BEMS program helps students learn to “develop and execute more effective business strategies,” “debate and analyze the business and technology trends that are redefining the industry,” and ” how to launch and manage creative products and portfolios more strategically.”
Ciara also thanked award-winning professor Anita Elberse, who “develops and teaches an MBA course covering the ‘Businesses of Entertainment, Media, and Sports,’ which ranks among the most sought-after courses in the School’s curriculum,” according to her faculty profile.
“Thank you @anitaelberse for a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend @Harvard BEMS. #WhyNotHER,” the Grammy winner wrote in conclusion.
The news of Ciara’s acceptance came nearly two weeks after the release of her seventh studio album, Beauty Marks, under her own record and entertainment company, Beauty Marks Entertainment. The Harvard program will likely help with that business endure as well as with her production company, Why Not You Productions, which she started with her husband, NFL superstar Russell Wilson.
