Colin Kaepernick has not been included in conversations regarding meetings between players and owners.

According to Slate, the news is a contradiction from suggestions made by the NFL and Malcolm Jenkins’ NFL Players Coalition.

Emails obtained by Slate from Kaepernick’s attorney reportedly back up the new findings.

“We specifically reached out to the [NFL Players Association] and to the Players Coalition [the group led by Jenkins] and we were verbatim told that Colin had no role,” Kaepernick’s attorney Mark Geragos said.

According to ESPN, “a coalition of NFL players has extended an invitation to [Houston Texans owner Bob McNair], commissioner Roger Goodell and unsigned quarterback Colin Kaepernick to a Monday meeting in Philadelphia at which they hope to address players’ ‘immediate concerns before additional progress can be made.”

But according to Kaepernick’s legal team, they were not made aware of a proposed meeting prior to the release of a letter about the possible meeting with details.

On Saturday, ESPN reported that “a coalition of NFL players has extended an invitation to [Houston Texans owner Bob McNair], commissioner Roger Goodell and unsigned quarterback Colin Kaepernick to a Monday meeting in Philadelphia at which they hope to address players’ ‘immediate concerns before additional progress can be made.’”

Jenkins is one of the founders of the group calling for the meeting. He previously said Kaepernick had been invited to a meeting that took place on Oct. 17 between players and owners. But following the meeting Texans owner Bob McNair reportedly said in reference to the league’s players that, “We can’t have the inmates running the prison.”

Jenkins also told reporters that he didn’t know why Kaepernick was not in attendance.

“I can’t answer that question.”

The below email was sent to the NFL Player’s Association by one of Kaepernick’s lawyers. According to the document, as of Oct. 25, Kaepernick had not been invited to any past or future meetings.
