The FBI has opened an investigation into a Asheville, North Carolina police beating after body cam footage was leaked to a local newspaper.
Johnnie Rush was stunned with a taser, beaten and choked by local White police officers for allegedly jaywalking and trespassing through the parking lot of a closed business.
North Carolina police are now focused on who exactly leaked the footage of the incident that took place August 2017, with Asheville police Chief Tammy Hooper telling the Asheville Citizen-Times that it’s release was illegal.
