Cory Booker Staffer Resigns

Cory Booker

After six years of working with Newark mayor Cory Booker, Anne Torres stepped down from her role as communications director, a move that may have been a result of Booker’s recent comments on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Torres, whose LinkedIn profile states that she went to the Fashion Institute of Technology, had been with Booker since his first mayoral campaign.

Booker was in the news a few weeks ago when he called the attack ads on Bain Capital from the Obama campaign “nauseating.” The ads have since been removed and, the young mayor backed off his comments via Twitter and YouTube. In a statement on Tuesday ,Torres wished Booker good luck and said she enjoyed her time working for him.
