“Bachelorette” Contestant Apologizes for Colorist, Homophobic Tweets

“Bachelorette” contender Justin Glaze is apologizing after old tweets from his teenage years resurfaced in which he made disparaging and colorist comments directed at Black women and used homophobic slurs. “What I said was ignorant and hurtful then (and) it’s ignorant and hurtful now,” Glaze said during an appearance on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast. “No matter how long (ago) it was, those words shouldn’t have come out of my mouth.”

Cedric The Entertainer to Host 2021 Emmy Awards

Cedric The Entertainer has been tapped to host the 2021 Emmy Awards, Variety reports. “Since I was a little boy huddled up next to my grandmother, television has always been my reliable friend, so it is an enormous honor for me to host this year’s Emmy Awards,” Cedric the Entertainer said in a statement. The small screen-centered award show will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and air live on Sunday, September 19.

Allyson Felix to Cover Childcare Costs for Moms Competing in Tokyo Olympics

Allyson Felix continues to be an advocate for mom athletes. In partnership with Athleta and the Women’s Sports Foundation, the sprinter has created a $200,000 childcare grant to support ten moms who will be competing in the Tokyo Olympics, Today reports. “As a mom and an athlete, I know first-hand the obstacles women face in sports,” Felix said in a statement.”But not everyone has access to this type of support from a partner or sponsor. These grants are about showing the industry that all mom athletes need this same comprehensive support.”

That’s how strongly I’m taking what you’re saying,” King went on.
