Black Lives Matter activist DeRay Mckesson will run for mayor of Baltimore.

He made the announcement on Wednesday.

Mckesson, a Baltimore native, will run as a member of the Democratic party. He’s entering into the race of about a dozen candidates. Prominent Black leaders Nick J. Mosby and Sheila Dixon are also among those vying for the political seat.
