Diana Ross Felt ‘Violated’ During Screening By New Orleans TSA Worker

Music icon and EBONY Spring 2019 cover star Diana Ross expressed her discomfort last weekend via social media about traveling through the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. According to the Motown star, Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) workers went too far during a body search, leaving her feeling “violated.”

Ross, who the day before performed at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, tweeted Sunday that she had a horrible experience at the airport, believing she was “treated like sh*t.”

The legend said she felt the TSA worker assigned to pat her down did so inappropriately. She was also sure not to blame the airline or bash the city.

In a statement to Huff Post, the TSA said it has been made aware of the incident and, as of publication, stands with its employee.

“Initial review of [closed circuit TV] indicates that the officers involved with Ms. Ross’s screening correctly followed all protocols, however, TSA leadership will continue to investigate the matter further. We encourage Ms. Ross to reach out to TSA so we can work with her directly to address her concerns.”

The Supremes’ frontwoman later tweeted her appreciation for those who keep the public safe: “We are so blessed to have the security that we have at the airports and in our country- This I know And I appreciate it TOTALLY.”
