A new documentary, This One’s for the Ladies, hits theaters June 7 with an NC-17 rating. Filmmaker Gene Graham’s explores the world of male exotic dancers in Newark, New Jersey, but with a twist. The strippers featured are Black and focuses on the Black women who love them.
In this unusual view of sexuality among Black men and women, the film’s NC-17 rating appropriate; the movie is full of rippling abs and impressive frontal nudity. The story follows a crew of exotic dancers, including twins Tyga and Raw Dog, who are founding members of the New Jersy Nasty Boyz.
Director Graham talked with Jezebel about the making of the documentary, saying, “In addition to showing the pure thrill of observing male bodies on a strip club stage, the documentary turns into an exploration of class, community, and sisterhood.
“They can be whoever they wanna be and do whatever they wanna do and express how they wanna express and have a couple of cocktails and, you know, touch some dick, and have a good time,” Graham says of the women.
