Capitol Police Officer Called N-Word During January Insurrection

Tuesday, four officers who defended the Capitol against insurrectionists on January 6 delivered emotional testimony about the events that took place that day. Amongs those officers was Capitol Police Sgt. Harry Dunn, who described how he and other Black cops were called racial slurs. "You know what, guys? This n****r voted for Joe Biden," Dunn recalled a woman in a pink MAGA shirt saying, according to Yahoo News. "No one has ever called me a n****r while I'm wearing the uniform of a Capitol Police officer," Dunn testified.

Eviction Moratorium to Expire Saturday

Thursday, the White House confirmed that the eviction moratorium, which was imposed by the CDC, will expire this Saturday. While the Biden Administration would have supported the CDC extending the eviction ban – especially given the recent spread of the Delta variant – the Supreme Court will not allow it unless Congress issues "clear and specific congressional authorization (via new legislation)." According to a White House press statement, President Biden is calling "on Congress to extend the eviction moratorium to protect such vulnerable renters and their families without delay."

'The Real Husbands of Hollywood' Returns To BET

Reality television parody series "The Real Husbands of Hollywood" will return to BET by way of the brand's streaming service BET+. Kevin Hart announced the return of the show on Instagram with an image that featured himself and a few of his co-stars. The revived series will include Hart and the show's other original stars Nelly, Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Robin Thicke, and JB Smoove.
