Judge Finds Tory Lanez Violated Megan Thee Stallion Restraining Order, Increases Bail

Tory Lanez‘s bail was increased from $190,000 to $250,000 after a judge found that he violated a restraining order by making a surprise appearance at the Rolling Loud Miami music festival last month, according to Billboard. Lanez, who apologized for his actions, posted bail but was told that if he violates the order again, he will be remanded. “You’re facing years in prison, over 22 years in prison,” Judge Keith H. Borjon. “They could have filed an additional charge based on violating the protective order because that’s a violation of law as well. You do not want to be doing things like this sir.”

Taliban Prohibiting Afghans from Fleeing Country

Tuesday, Taliban leaders expressed that they expect the United States to depart the country by the August 31 deadline. However, according to The Washington Post, they have stopped allowing the passage of Afghans to Kabul airport. Further, they are asking the U.S. not to encourage Afghans to flee as they are needed to help rebuild the country. “We are asking the American please change your policy and don’t encourage Afghans to leave,” said Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

Dr. Fauci Predicts Pandemic Will Last Until Next Spring

Dr. Anthony Fauci predicts that the COVID-19 pandemic can be under control by Spring 2022, at the earliest. The only caveat is that more people have to get vaccinated. With the current vaccination rate, he anticipates that the winter months will bring greater caseloads and more death. “If we can get through this winter…I hope we can get some good control in the spring of 2022,” Fauci said during a CNN appearance Monday. “That would mean you have the overwhelming majority of the population vaccinated.”

Celina Smith Cast as Annie in NBC Live Musical

12-year-old Celina Smith has been cast in the starring role of NBC’s Annie Live, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Atlanta native was selected following the network’s nationwide search for the show’s lead character. “It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of the talented young ladies who have played Annie before me and I can’t wait to start this journey,” Smith said in a press statement. The pre-teen’s resume includes the role of Nala in the touring company of The Lion King and Tyler Perry’s “Young Dylan.”

Steph Curry’s Mother Files for Divorce

Sonya and Dell Curry are preparing to end their 33-year marriage. According to People, the parents of NBA superstars Seth and Steph Curry have already separated and Sonya filed to end the marriage back in June. “After exploring a trial separation over the past year and much thoughtful consideration, we have decided to end our marriage. As this comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus and desire is for our family’s continued happiness,” the estranged couple expressed in a joint statement. “We are so thankful for all the many blessings and successes! We stay committed to and supportive of our children and grandchildren and will remain on connected paths. We ask that our privacy be respected and prayer for our family as we move forward.”
