A sardonic Knock the Vote ad featuring actors as elderly White supporters of President Donald Trump was launched on Sept. 24. The viral campaign paid for by ACRONYM, a digital organization working for progressive change, is an urgent cry to get young voters to the polls during next month’s midterm elections.

The people in the ad taunt millennials with the social problems that plague their generation. “Climate change? That’s a you problem. I’ll be dead soon,” one woman declared in the PSA.
Others said, “Sure, school shootings are bad, but I haven’t been in a school in 50 years,” and “I can’t keep track of which lives matter.”
Although the ad may seem harsh, there is some truth to it. According to The Washington Post, young American voters statistically do not show up to vote in elections.
“Midterms, primaries, every single election — we’ll be there, but you won’t,” the Trump supporters continued. “Because we’re a generation of doers, not whiners. And we’re doing great.”
