Cynthia Nixon, best known for her role as Miranda Hobbes on HBO favorite Sex and the City, is currently running for New York state Governor. Determined to reach demographics who often go ignored by traditional politicos, Nixon recently showed her respects to hip hop legends, Eric B & Rakim, while stomping for her cause.
Rob Stone shared footage of the Irving Plaza concert via Instagram, with the caption, “When Cynthia Nixon shows up at Eric B. & Rakim…”
The footage shows Nixon giving props to the duo while letting the crowd know she’s a true blue New Yorker who’d love their support.
“I want to say thank you to Rakim and to Eric B. for inviting me here tonight, and I know, I know that Eric B. is president,” she quipped amid applause. “But I’m here because I want to be governor of New York State. I was born here, I grew up here, with my mom, in a one bedroom, five-flight walk up.”
