Former ESPN Host Claims She Was Fired Because She’s White

Former ESPN reporter, Britt McHenry, claimed over the weekend that her 2017 firing from the sports broadcaster was a result of her race, saying in a Twitter exchange with a follower that she was “demoted because I was White.”


McHenry was one of many casualties during a round of layoffs at the time, according to, with cost cutting across the board being the reported primary reason. Two months after her initial demotion, she reportedly claimed the network handed her a pink slip over her more right-wing political views, saying, “I mean I’ve been openly conservative … look how that ended up …”
