The funeral for Daunte Wright is scheduled to take place Thursday afternoon at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Minneapolis. According to CNN, relatives of George Floyd and Oscar Grant are expected to be in attendance. Reverend Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy. The service will begin at 1 pm ET.

LeVar Burton To Serve As Interim Host Of "Jeopardy!"

After a highly publicized fan petition, LeVar Burton has been tapped to serve as an interim host of "Jeopardy!" according to CBS News. The Star Trek: Next Generation star is one of a handful of celebrities who have been cast to guest host the game show in the wake of Alex Trebek's death. Other hosts include Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, David Faber, and Joe Buck.

Officer Identified In Ma'Khia Bryant Shooting

The police officer responsible for the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant has been identified as Nicholas Reardon, USA Today reports. He has been with the Columbus Police Department since 2019 and has been placed on leave. Ohio's Bureau of Criminal Investigation is looking into the shooting and will present its findings to a prosecutor.

Forest Whitaker Finalizes Divorce

Actor Forest Whitaker's divorce is from his wife of more than twenty years, Keisha Nash-Whitaker, has been finalized. According to The Blast, the couple cited irreconcilable differences. The pair opted for a confidential judgment. Nash-Whitaker and Whitaker met on the set of Blown Away in 1994. They wed two years later in 1996. The Last King of Scotland star filed for divorce in December of 2018.

Houses Passes Bill To Grant DC Statehood

House Democrats advanced a bill Thursday that would make Washington DC the 51st state, CNN reports. The legislation is expected to face challenges in the Senate and many predict that it will not attact enough Republic support to receive the 60 votes required for passage.
