Critics are accusing Governor Chris Christie of treating Whitney Houston better than fallen soldiers, but Christie rejects the idea strongly. His decision to have flags lowered to half-mast this upcoming Saturday angered many who also feel that Houston’s substance abuse problems should disqualify her from such an honor.

Since going public with this decision, the Republican governor has had numerous disparaging emails and other messages coming into his office. Either way, Gov. Christie has ordered flags flown at half-mast for each of the 31 fallen New Jersey soldiers and every police officer killed in the line of duty during his time in office, so much of the criticism is unfounded.

So, with the unwarranted criticism coming from those who wish to throw salt on Whitney’s memory, should Governor Christie go ahead with his tribute?
