The political world is heavily concerned about the health of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and for good reason. Illinois-based politician has been mum about his health issues, but now his office is claiming that Jackson is undergoing "intensive" medical treatment for a mood disorder. After releasing a statement they said was from his physician, Jackson's staffers did not identify the doctor, making this confusing situation even more complicated.

Jackson's office originally denied an NBC News report that he was being treated for alcohol or substance abuse. "The name of the attending physician and treatment center will not be disclosed in order to protect his continuing privacy," Jackson's office said in the brief release. No other information was made available on Jackson's condition, such as the details of what mood disorder he is being treated for or when — or even if — he will return to his official duties.
