Khloé Kardashian Accused of Encouraging 'Love' for Racists

Khloé Kardashian has joined the ranks of celebrities using their platforms to send uplifting messages as news of the mosque shootings in New Zealand on Friday were confirmed. A white supremacist suspect shot and killed at least 49 people worshiping at two mosques in Christchurch.

Kardashian had attempted on Monday to inspire and encourage in the wake of the tragedy, but it didn’t pan out the way she expected it to.

The reality star took to her Instagram Story suggesting, “Love is the only cure,” and shared a picture of a T-shirt that stated everyone she believes should be loved—including racists.

While highlighting groups that are marginalized and often mistreated, Kardashian’s post said, “Love Thy Neighbor, Thy Homeless Neighbor, Thy Muslim Neighbor, Thy Black Neighbor, Thy Gay Neighbor, Thy White Neighbor, Thy Jewish Neighbor, Thy Christian Neighbor, Thy Atheist Neighbor, Thy Racist Neighbor, Thy Addicted Neighbor.”

The idea of the reality star suggesting people should love “thy racist neighbor” days after the shootings at two mosques that left 50 people dead, sent readers into a frenzy.

This isn’t Kardashian’s first time coming under fire for race-related posts. Along with her family, she’s been accused of cultural appropriation numerous times, and even caught flack for sharing a picture from a photo shoot where model Slick Woods kneeled beside her.

Kardashian has yet to address the fallout from her Instagram post.
