Lawyers for Family of Tamir Rice Release Independent Reports

Officers in Tamir Rice Shooting Escape Charges

Lawyers for the family of 12-year-old boy fatally shot last year by a Cleveland police officer have presented Ohio prosecutors with two independent reports on the incident.

The reports, made public Saturday night, contradict three previous investigations commissioned by the prosecutor’s office that found the shooting death of Tamir Rice to be reasonable.

The reports, produced by Jeff J. Noble, an expert witness and Roger A. Clark, a 27-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department, conclude that in the November 22, 2014 shooting of Rice, the officers involved exerted “unreasonable and unjustified use of deadly force,” according to a press release sent to JET. The reports also found that Officers Timothy Loehnmann and Frank Garmback displayed a “callous disregard for the life of Tamir.”
