A 73-year-old Bronx, New York man was found stabbed to death in his apartment just days after winning $10,000 in the lottery.
The NY Daily News reports the victim, Owen Dillard, was discovered by his 60-year-old fiancée, who proceeded to call police. Dillard’s stepson, Jesus Pagan, told the site that he was recently diagnosed with cancer and also just won the lottery. Pagan says the victim also drove a 2017 Cadillac, “so people knew he had money.”
Edna Baez, another relative, added, “For him to die like this shouldn’t stay in vain, because D was a sweet old man and everybody knows that, so I just pray to God that whoever did this they find them ASAP.”
Police have not identified any suspects thus far.
