Three Virginia police officers put Linwood Lambert, 46, in a squad car around 5 a.m. on May 4, 2013.

They said they were taking him to the ER for medical attention because he was “speaking delusionally.”

A little over an hour later, Lambert was dead. He was never given medical care, though the South Boston, Va. officers did drive him to the hospital. The officers ultimately arrested him, but initially, that was not the case.

They shackled his hands and legs, and tased him repeatedly. While in custody, Lambert became agitated and ran from the police officers.

Police claim he fought them at the time, when videos of the incident show he was actually unconscious. Police are denying allegations of excessive force.

Two years later and no charges have been filed. But a new investigation shows the deadly incident for the first time.
