UPDATE: On Monday night, police announced the two Brooklyn siblings who claimed a man was stalking them fabricated the story.

Original Story: A New York City man has turned himself in after he allegedly stalked an 8-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother.

On Friday, the man followed the young girl and her friend on their way home from school. On the same day, he flagged down her 12-year-old brother’s school bus in an attempt to pick him up. Later that Friday, the 8-year-old later noticed the man taking pictures outside of the home in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, where she lived. She said she asked who he was. He then inquired as to whom she lived with and where she slept.

On Saturday, he asked where he slept and where his parents were at the time. Hours later, a note that read: “Watch out. I am watching you!! Your daughter is cute,” was found in the mailbox outside of the home.

Surveillance video shows the man double parking his White sedan outside of the home before stepping out and surveying the residence. After a still from the video began circulating the web on Monday, PIX 11 reported that he turned himself into local police.
