McDonald’s Celebrates International Women’s Day by Flipping the Golden Arches

McDonald’s is taking the time to celebrate International Women’s Day with an unexpected gesture, as the fast-food chain will be turning many of their signature golden arches upside down into W’s for the day.

Company spokesperson Lauren Altmin tells CNBC that the “W” is in “celebration of women everywhere.”

“We have a long history of supporting women in the workplace, giving them the opportunity to grow and succeed,” says Altmin. “In the U.S. we take pride in our diversity and we are proud to share that today, six out of 10 restaurant managers are women.”

Expect to see the temporary logo takeover all of their social media handles as well as special packaging at 100 select locations.
