Michelle Obama Is Sick of the ‘Nastiness’ in Politics (VIDEO)

Michelle Obama, When We All Vote, Nastiness

On Sunday, Michelle Obama said she was sick of the “nastiness” in today’s politics during a Las Vegas rally for When We All Vote, a nonprofit voting initiative.

According to The Hill, the former first lady told a crowd of more than 2,000 people that “democracy continues with or without you,” but sympathized with those who shut out politics because of the mental exhaustion it could cause.

“Believe me, I am frustrated, too,” Obama said. “I am sick of all the chaos and the nastiness of our politics. It’s exhausting and, frankly, it’s depressing. I understand wanting to shut it all out.”

Sunday marked When We All Vote’s Week of Action, a weeklong effort to register new voters before November’s general election. Obama is the co-chair of the organization and is scheduled to appear at the Miami rally on Sept. 28.

Last week, the Harvard Law alum starred in a PSA warning against voter apathy.
