This past Saturday, the White House Correspondents’ Association held its highly-anticipated, annual dinner at the Washington Hilton, where political journalists and celebrities alike honor excellence in journalism. The star-studded dinner (also known as the “nerd prom” in Washington), was headlined by Jimmy Kimmel and featured a speech by President Obama that had the audience rolling in the aisles.

EBONY caught up with Dave Chappelle, MSNBC hosts Tamron Hall and Al Sharpton, Michael Eric Dyson, Dancing with the Stars winner J.R. Martinez, and White House Adviser Valerie Jarrett at MSNBC’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner After Party – all of whom agreed that the highlight of the evening was President Obama’s speech.  Even former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele confessed to EBONY that, though “Jimmy [Kimmel’s speech] was great, the President was just in his groove!”

MSNBC transformed the Italian Embassy into a fluorescent paradise for its party guests and offered up cocktails mixed by MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and records spun by DJ Funkmaster Flex.
