With days left to go before an important Republican presidential primary in Michigan, President Barack Obama has a little reminder for its residence there — he’s the guy who saved their auto industry! Obama is claiming credit for the multibillion-dollar federal bailout that revived General Motors, Chrysler, and the city of Detroit from going bankrupt.

The ad even expertly notes that none of the Republican presidential hopefuls whom are coming into town supported federal intervention and that Mitt Romney once penned a columned ominously titled, “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.” Michigan is a red-hot state and has become a must-win for Romney specifically, as his father was an auto company executive and governor of the state.

How do you see Obama’s ad campaign shifting or affecting the GOP presidential primaries? Will Romney lose to Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich? Or will he be able to hold his own?
