Praying While Black: Rev. Osagyefo Sekou Acquitted

St. Louis-based Activist Rev. Osagyefo Sekou was found not guilty of all charges following his arrest in 2014.

The theologian was detained for praying during a protest in response to Michael Brown’s death in Ferguson.

The reverend was on his knees, praying, when he was taken into custody outside Ferguson Police headquarters shortly after midnight on Sept. 30, 2014.

“The attempted to try the movement and defame the movement, Sekou said. “But their ploy didn’t work.”
