'Power' Actor Isaiah Stokes Charged With Murder
"Power" actor Isaiah Stokes has been charged in the murder of 37-year-old Tyrone Jones, Entertainment Weekly reports. The murder was caught on surveillance video. Footage shows a man, who investigators alleged is Stokes, walking up to a vehicle where Jones was parked and firing 11 shots into the car. If convicted, Stokes faces a sentence of 25 years to life.

A study from the American Psychological Association found that police officers treat Black motorists with less respect than their white counterparts. Specifically, researchers found that officers have a tendency to speak to white motorists with a tone of voice that exuded warmth and civility while Black drivers did not receive the same regard. "What this research shows is that these interactions differ not just in what happens in the encounter but also in these interpersonal aspects, like how officers communicate," said Nicholas Camp, assistant professor of organizational studies at the University of Michigan the study's lead author, according to CNN. "This matters."
