R. Kelly has reportedly threatened to sue Lifetime if it airs the forthcoming docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, which features alleged victims of his sexual and physical abuse.

According to TMZ, Kelly’s lawyer, Brian Nix, sent the network a letter stating that the six-episode series is filled with lies.

The singer claims “some of the girls are lying, but that the budget was too high to turn back now.”

He also said he would file a federal lawsuit if the Thursday night premiere is not canceled.

This is the second threat the Lifetime documentary has received. In December, during a Q&A screening with several accusers in New York City, a gun threat prompted the cancellation of the premiere.

Surviving R. Kelly includes interviews with several alleged survivors, the singer’s relatives and ex-wife, members of his former inner circle and notable journalists.

One former backup dancer even described Kelly’s alleged sexual conduct with Aaliayh, which the late singer’s mother vehemently denied. Other accounts include reports that the Chicagoan preyed on teen girls throughout schools in his hometown.

The series will unfold in six episodes over three days starting on Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
