A record number of people visited the Louvre in Paris in 2018 and the museum is thanking Beyoncé and JAY-Z because of their “Apesh*t” video.

The iconic museum saw 10.2 million visitors last year, a 25 percent increase from 2017, according to a press release.

“The recovery of tourism in France — especially in Paris — boosted visitor attendance in 2018, as did the flagship exhibition ‘Delacroix (1798–1863),’” reads the statement. “Elsewhere in the world, interest in the Louvre was bolstered by the Louvre Abu Dhabi (which recently celebrated its first anniversary), and by Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s “Apes–t” video, with its tribute to some of the museum’s greatest artworks.”

“Apesh*t” was the first video from the famous couples’ first joint album Everything is Love, which was released in June 2018. The video was filmed at the 226-year-old museum and featured iconic collections such as Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” and “Venus de Milo” by Alexandros of Antioch.

According to Page Six, the museum launched a 90-minute “Jay-Z and Beyoncé at the Louvre” tour last summer.
