Comedian Kevin Barnett, 32, who died this week, succumbed to complications of pancreatitis, according to E! News.
The Forensic Medical Service of Tijuana revealed in an autopsy Thursday that Barnett died from a non-traumatic hemorrhage caused by pancreatitis. He passed away Jan. 22 in Mexico.
“Pancreatitis occurs when digestive enzymes become activated while still in the pancreas, irritating the cells of your pancreas and causing inflammation,” according to the Mayo Clinic.
Barnett co-created the Fox comedy Rel, which stars comedian Lil Rel Howery, and has written episodes of NBC’s The Carmichael Show, according to HuffPost.
““I can’t stop crying on this plane it’s really starting to hit me that he is actually gone… At 32 he accomplished so much in this business and was respected by many… Rest In Peace my brother and my friend… Thank you for the last 6 years of helping make my dreams come true man… #FOTP4Life,” Howery wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.
