‘State of the Union’ Invite Misspells ‘Union’

Donald Trump, South Africa, Farmers

On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump will give his “State of the Union” address, and some of those who were invited to the event received invitations that had a typo or two.

CNN reports that instead of “union” being spelled correctly, “uniom” appeared on some of the invitations.

The tickets, which are distributed by the sergeant at arms and doorkeeper, were sent to spouses and guests of members of Congress.

How many of the tickets that contained typos remains unclear, but a source affiliated with the White House said the mishap was immediately corrected.

Tickets that haven’t been picked up yet have been swapped out, and those that have already been distributed will be exchanged for newly printed tickets, CNN said.

Rep. Raul M. Grijalva, (D-Arizona) took to Twitter to call out the typo.
“Just received my ticket for the State of the Union. Looks like @BetsyDeVosEd was in charge of spell checking… #SOTUniom,” he tweeted.
The President is scheduled to deliver the address to Congress Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
