McDonald’s USA, through its Black & Positively Golden movement, via its 13th Annual Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour, has again left a lasting impact on communities across the country. The free seven-city concert series closed out in Houston on December 13 with a special holiday show infused with gospel music luminaries, including Kirk Franklin and Le’Andria Johnson, who joined an all-star lineup of gospel greats—Donald Lawrence, Tye Tribbett, Keke Wyatt, Kierra Sheard, Sir the Baptist, DJ Standout and host Lonnie Hunter—for the final show.
McDonald’s reinforced its commitment to uplifting the community by expanding the tour’s lineup to bring even more empowering music to its holiday show stage. Franklin performed fan-favorite and chart-topping hits, while Le’Andria Johnson joined Donald Lawrence & Company for an exciting, exclusive performance of the award-winning hit single “Deliver Me.”
Continuing its longtime support of families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and its network of local chapters, McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour raised nearly $100,000 in 2019 alone to aid in helping families with ill or injured children stay close to each other and the medical care they need to thrive. Since 2013, the tour has helped provide more than 13,000 overnight stays to families utilizing local Ronald McDonald House programs.
The concert series also has left a lasting positive impact on several communities throughout the year. In partnership with Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the company honored four of six Black & Positively Golden HBCU scholars for their commitment to serving their communities during the Washington D.C. and Tallahassee tour stops. The brand also hosted the first Golden Voice Talent Showcase and Master Class in Atlanta, in partnership with RCA Inspiration. The Golden Voice Talent Showcase winner took home $1,000 and performed during the concert, while select tour talent gave Master Class attendees an in-depth, inside look into the music industry.

McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour is expected to return in 2020. It is part of the company’s Black & Positively Golden campaign movement, which is designed to uplift communities and shine a brilliant light on Black excellence through empowerment, education and entrepreneurship.
