Suspected Mastermind Behind Paris Attacks Killed in Raid

The Belgian extremist suspected of masterminding the deadly attacks in Paris last week is dead, according to French officials.

27-year-old Abdelhamid Abaaoud’s body was found in the building targeted Wednesday in a bloody raid in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis.

His body was identified based on skin samples. Abaaoud ended up near Paris after reportedly being in Syria.

Officials have not said how he managed to travel across so many borders en route to the French capital.

Authorities also did not release details on his exact whereabouts or actions during the deadly attack that claimed the lives of 129 people on Friday.
