Southern spitter T.I. was recently honored by the Georgia Senate for his philanthropic efforts.
The Atlanta native received the great recognition last Friday (March 22) at the Georgia State Capitol, The AJC writes. State Sen. Donzella James saluted the rapper and reality star for creating several non-profits, including Harris Community Works, which helps low-income households and For The Love Of Our Fathers, which serves those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia. In addition to donating time and money to worthy causes such as hurricane relief and the Boys & Girls Club, Tip has also hosted several Thanksgiving turkey drives and holiday gift giveaways.
Last summer, the MC also bought several properties in the now desolate neighborhood of Center Hill, where he grew up. He plans to build up the community by opening a grocery store and providing residents with affordable housing.
