George Zimmerman, the avowed shooter in the Trayvon Martin case, is looking to raise money to fund his pending legal defense and cover the family’s living expenses. The plan is by using social media and a brand-new website to do so. NBC News confirmed the launch, as the Zimmerman family will send the site into World Wide Web orbit with the help of the law office of Hal Uhrig, the latest attorney hired by the Zimmerman’s to manage the case.

The family’s first lawyer, Craig Sonner, has already released a statement explaining the intention of the site. “George Zimmerman’s family has setup a website for anyone who would like to help with George and his family with their living expenses [sic] and for his defense,” the statement reads.” “Please go to the website at www.zimmermandefense.com.” Zimmerman still has yet to be arrested or charged for killing the 17-year-old teenager. Police have stated that the former mortgage risk management worker acted in self-defense, citing Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law.

Currently, with all the critical media coverage and protests calling for Zimmerman’s arrest, the 28-year-old has gone into hiding.
