Actors Tisha Campbell-Martin and Duane Martin are in the middle of a divorce, and the former Martin star recently accused her estranged husband of being “physically, emotionally and mentally” abusive to her throughout their marriage.
TMZ reports that new legal docs filed by Tisha say she filed for a restraining order because Duane “flew into a violent rage as recently as last month.” She claims he once punched her in the chest with a closed fist, and “grabbed me by my arm to try to get me in the bedroom” in December. She also claims she filed a police report this month documenting multiple physical altercations.
Legal documents indicate Duane’s alleged abuse began at the beginning of their marriage in 1996. Tisha claims the Above the Rim actor chastised her for gaining weight and her difficulty in securing work because of it.
“I can no longer live in fear of retaliation,” Tisha included within her restraining order request. “The need to press criminal charges for his acts overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public through this report.”
A judge has granted Tisha a temporary restraining order against Duane, requiring he stay at least 100 yards away from her.
