A report by the Washington Blade claims the entire HIV/AIDS council has been fired, Donald Trump, Affirmative Action

The 16 remaining members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) have been fired without explanation according to a Friday report by the Washington Blade.

The termination allegedly occurred Wednesday by way of a FedEx letter. The council, an initiative by President Bill Clinton in 1995, informs the White House secretary of programs and policies to best combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Trump is the first president since Clinton who’s failed to appoint a chief of the council, hindering the transfer of crucial information between the two parties.

In June, six members of PACHA quit the council, citing the president’s negligence on the issue. One of the former council members Scott Schoettes referred to the unjustified terminations as a “purge.”

The firing took place less than a week after a New York Times report claimed Trump once remarked all Haitians have AIDS.
