Tyler Perry Drops $434K to Clear Walmart Layaway Balances for Customers

LOS ANGELES - NOV 18: Tyler Perry at the 10th Annual Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom on November 18, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA

Tyler Perry will certainly be making Santa’s “nice” list this year—the Vice actor has reportedly paid off the layaway balances at two Atlanta-area Walmarts.

TMZ reports the film director has picked up the tabs at two superstores to cover the cost of outstanding layaway items for customers. Perry reportedly spent $178k at one store in Atlanta and another $256k at a store in the nearby suburb of Douglasville. Customers will simply have to pay only 1 cent during pickup to walk away with their items.

Perry has been in a generous mind state all year. The “Madea” creator gifted Tiffany Haddish with a Tesla in July, offered Geoffrey Owens a role on The Haves and the Have Nots in September and purchased a home for a friend’s sick mother shortly thereafter.
