A video showing three young Black men assisting a 100-year-old
man who was struggling to get his wife into a car has gone viral online.
Kanesha Carnegie, a cop from the Levy County Sherriff’s
Office in Bronson, Florida, captured the heartwarming moment last week and
posted it on Facebook.
Carnegie was at a gas station when she saw Rose Griest, 89, struggling to get into the vehicle. Griest and her husband, David, stopped at the gas station on their way to a doctor’s appointment and barely could stand as she made her way back to the car, according to the Good News Network.
The officer was going to help Griest, but noticed that three young Black men, Joc Koe Stoe, Marty and Freddy, who are rappers from the area, approach the couple to assist them.
“Thank you so much, fellas,” David says in the video. “I’m 100 years old.”
“It was a beautiful thing to see,” Carnegie told Yahoo! News. “I know these men from the neighborhood,
and I wanted them to have that moment to show who they really are.”
